Run a New Scan

This article explains how to initiate a new scan or upload third-party scan data to Cynomi. It includes first-time setup instructions and how to launch different scan types.

First-Time Setup

If it’s your first time using scans:

  1. Go to the Scans page.

  2. Click Start Scanning to view available scan options.

For Returning Users

  1. Go to Scans → Results.

  2. Click the New Scan button.

  3. Choose your source:

    • Run a Cynomi-built scanner (e.g., External or Internal)

    • Upload a CSV file from Nessus, Qualys, or Microsoft Secure Score

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

📁 Note: You can upload up to 5 files, each up to 20MB.

Supported Formats

  • Nessus and Qualys – CSV

  • Microsoft Secure Score – CSV

  • Cynomi Internal Scan – JSON (from provided script)
